This is a list of known neurodivergent mental states, with some commentary on each.
- The point isn’t to “other” them, but more to articulate what they are.
- If you dig deeply enough, nearly everyone has a neurodivergent mind, even if they haven’t been formally diagnosed.
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
- Characterized by a perpetual state of racing and tangential thoughts.
- Disadvantages:
- Difficulty focusing on one task at a time.
- Advantages:
- Unusually capable at finding creative solutions.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Disadvantages:
- Difficulty with social cues and norms.
- Advantages:
- Unusual capacity toward self-discipline.
